The Art of Transformation uses thoroughly original and reliable techniques to enable you to build fully-formed characters on screen, stage and even in the street. Work on one character for 4 weeks and learn what it takes to become an extraordinary actor.
Through a series of unique exercises involving physical, psychological, emotional and vocal ‘'filtering’', what you know about acting will be turned on its head.
This course is not for the starry-eyed, the faint-of-heart or the downright lazy. It is for passionate, committed actors who will sacrifice anything to create a truthful and compelling life in front of an audience.
Do not apply unless you are willing to commit to at least:
- 5 contact hours X 4 weeks (3-hr group + 1-hr voice / dialect + 1-hr private 'immersion session' / week)
- 2 hours (minimum) of your own '‘observation & research'’
each week
- plenty of take-home work, exercises, viewings & readings
- dialect / voice classes (with their own homework)
- ‘field trips’ (sometimes in character), and
- a major impact on your social life*
* Note: Take-home exercises may 'weird-out' family and friends a little, so please keep this in mind when applying for the course. If you have any questions, please ask us.
