ACTION! - THE CRAFT OF SCREEN ACTING

A unique opportunity to get to grips with the essentials of acting for camera, with tuition that gives actors an idea of the requirements of DIRECTOR, ACTOR and CREW.

Based in Central London, near Liverpool Street, ACTION! is a two day course that will give those with little or no camera experience the knowledge necessary to perform to the best of their ability on set and during on-camera auditions.

During the first day a series of workshops and exercises will be led by our three tutors, viewing the requirements of DIRECTOR, ACTOR and CINEMATOGRAPHER. This will include viewing scenes from movies and TV, looking at working scripts and the technical aspects of acting required by the crew. At the end of the day scripts will be given out for participants to learn overnight.

On the second day the scripts will be rehearsed with our tutors working in rotation, and the finished product filmed and discussed by the group. A tape of these exercises will be provided following the course.

Finally there will be a discussion of the practicalities of finding screen work, including photos, showreels, auditions, agents, casting directors and making contacts.
