Following an acting career primarily on the stage, including West End work directed by Stephen Daldry (Billy Elliot, The Hours), Rory moved into directing, and has now completed five films, which have screened at film festivals and been sold to television.

He has worked with hugely experienced screen actors as diverse as Julian Glover, Kenneth Cranham, Sylvester McCoy and Sean Maguire. Other actors he has directed in films have appeared in such features as Vera Drake, Batman Begins and Harry Potter, as well as TV series such as EastEnders, The Bill, Murphy's Law, Holby City, Family Affairs, Coronation Street and many others.
